More Broken Parts

So after about 2 months of running a rear peg, yes I run a peg, finally snapped an axle.  The Velocity hubs that I'm running have been awesome-- cheap and pretty strong, and truly, asking a 10mm non-hardened axle to stand up to grinds is a lot to ask.  Luckily Kareem had a spare axle and in about ten minutes I was back up and running.

Broken Axle

Wonder if anyone makes a hardened axle or a 14mm fixed hub?

A Snowy Athens

Athens got hit with some snow yesterday.  Took the Bruiser out towards the bar and managed to eat shit rolling out of the driveway.  Guess CX tires should have been swapped on.

Broken Parts are No Fun

Was out riding a few days ago and was doing a grind when I heard a pop.  This was the end result-- not much fun.

After swapping on a non-splined chainwheel to get home I took apart the Krull, Stout, All-City ring combo and the Krull just fell into two pieces.

I'm currently debating on what to do next for a chainwheel.  I really like the Krull for its compatibility with my Steel MKE Stout, but obviously, its not up to the task of grinding.  A Tree Lite sprocket would probably make the most sense but its not compatible with a bash/grind guard.  Maybe left side drive is in my future.
